Hello, fellow dog-lovers! I hope you all had a pawsome and relaxing weekend. I spent my weekend with my family back in my hometown and had the chance to have some interestingly fun conversations with my parents. Growing up in America in a Chinese family, I learned to respect and value my parent's traditional Chinese culture.
Although I am not generally a superstitious person, I wholeheartedly believe in the traditional Chinese saying that "If a dog shows up at your doorstep (or in some other form of your life), don't shoo them away. Invite them inside your home and care for them- and they will surely bring you good fortune."
"If a dog shows up at your doorstep, don't shoo them away. Invite them inside your home and care for them- and they will surely bring you good fortune."
For all of you amazing, dog-loving people, this is good news! Fortune does not only mean money or wealth. Dogs bring us joy and are a part of our families. With them in our lives, our homes feel more vibrant and loving.
In my own personal experience, adopting a dog as a little girl has been one of the best decisions of my life. I always knew I loved animals as a kid, but my love for them had only been truly tested and proven when I got my puppy from Houston's SPCA shelter 10 years ago. From then on, I learned how to care for someone else- Snowy, my dog who soon became my best friend. Here is a then and now picture of my Border Collie mix:
Without Snowy, I would not have even thought about starting a business that was centered around creating products for dog lovers. My love for dogs has encompassed much of my life (I even passed my love for dogs to Andy!) and it's super fun and fulfilling to meet tons of other dog-loving people such as our customers.
In conclusion, I want to encourage you all to continue loving and obsessing over dogs as I do- they really are amazing creatures and companions in our lives! :)
